Charles Schulz's Swiss-chalet ice arena

Snoopy's Home Ice was built and owned by Peanuts cartoonist Charles M. Schulz and was conceived, designed and first run by his first wife, Joyce. It opened on April 28, 1969, with a gala starring 1968 Olympic gold medalist Peggy Fleming and the Vince Guaraldi Trio.

Set among towering redwoods, the building has reproductions of Swiss chalet facades and panoramic scenes of the Swiss Alps. The arena has about 500 permanent seats for hockey, expandable to 3,000 for concerts and other events, and in summer 2019 it closed for its first renovation since opening, reopening that November.

It is home to the Santa Rosa Flyers junior team, the Cardinal Newman High School team, the Santa Rosa Figure Skating Club and the Santa Rosa Growlers, and every year it hosts Snoopy's Senior World Hockey Tournament, a week-long event for 64 to 70 senior teams from around the world.
