Two ice sheets and a 25-yard pool under one 95,000-square-foot roof
Champions Skating Center in Cromwell, Connecticut, is a 95,000-square-foot multi-purpose sports facility owned by Black Bear Sports Group, which lists it among its Connecticut rinks. Under its roof are two ice sheets, one NHL-sized and one Olympic-sized, plus a 25-yard swimming pool, so the building serves swimmers as well as skaters.
The building also houses a number of on-site businesses, among them the Champions Training and Aquatic Center and the Champions Skating Center ProShop. The New England Athletic Club is on site as well.
Hockey teams from youth through junior fill the ice. The Hartford Junior Wolfpack, the Central Connecticut Youth Hockey Association and Connecticut GC Youth Hockey all call Champions home. Two high school programs, Eastern Catholic High School and Rocky Hill High School, are based here as well.
