City of Stamford rink inside Cove Island Park, skating home of Stamford Youth Hockey since 1973
Terry Conners Ice Rink is owned and operated by the City of Stamford and stands inside Cove Island Park, near the park's entrance. The rink and the Stamford Youth Hockey Association have operated together since 1973, the year the association was founded as a community-based non-profit. The building is run under the city's Operations Department, and its skaters and spectators total over 250,000 visits a year.
The rink is at 1125 Cove Road. Today the youth programs that call the rink their skating home share the ice with skating lessons and freestyle sessions.
Professional hockey arrived in 2017, when the Connecticut Whale moved to Terry Conners Ice Rink for the 2017-18 season and kept it as a home arena through 2019.
