Two 200-by-85-foot NHL-size sheets, home of the Pittsburgh Predators Amateur Hockey Club
Ice Castle Arena was opened by business developer Ralph Murovich, who has said that when he first opened the rink it was just another development to him, but that it turned into a family business. His son Mason later took over the Pro Shop inside the then 15-year-old arena and more than doubled its revenue in two years.
Both rinks are NHL-size, 200 by 85 feet, with jet ice, bright lighting and a clear sound system. IC Fitness Center occupies the second floor of the building. The arena is home to the Pittsburgh Predators Amateur Hockey Club and to high school teams including Baldwin, Canevin, Carrick, South Fayette, South Park, Thomas Jefferson, Upper St. Clair and West Allegheny.
A $3.95 million package from The Progress Fund and Enterprise Bank refinanced the arena's debt and paid for an expansion of the building. Ice Castle is a site of frequent tournaments and draws teams from as far as Quebec and Seattle.
