Robert Morris University's island rink
The RMU Island Sports Center opened in 1998 on Neville Island, reached from exit 65 of Interstate 79, with ice and inline skating rinks, a golf range, miniature golf, athletic fields and a fitness center. In 2003 Robert Morris University bought the land, a former Superfund site known as Ohio River Park, from Neville Land Company for 2.7 million dollars, and the EPA was still monitoring the site as of 2018.
Its 1,200-seat main rink has carried several names: 84 Lumber Arena from March 2012, Colonials Arena again before the 2017-18 season, and Clearview Arena since a naming deal announced on October 13, 2020.
It is home ice for Robert Morris's NCAA Division I men's and women's hockey teams and four club teams. It was also the home of the NAHL's Pittsburgh Forge until they moved to Toledo in 2003; that franchise is now the Corpus Christi IceRays.
