Sandy's two-rink NHL practice facility for the Utah Mammoth, open to the public for skating and leagues.
The Utah Mammoth Ice Center grew out of Utah's arrival in the NHL. On May 6, 2024, Smith Entertainment Group announced it was buying The Shops at South Town in Sandy and would build the team's practice facility on the 111-acre site, with a groundbreaking ceremony that August 12 and completion expected for the 2025–26 season.
The building holds two NHL regulation rinks and the team's offices, along with spaces open to the public: a public entrance, an NHL team store, locker rooms, elevated seating around both rinks and multipurpose rooms for community programs.
Each sheet meets NHL standards, so local skaters can skate on the same ice as the pros. A rink holds up to 200 skaters, with bleacher seating for up to 300, and the ice is shared with public skating, youth and adult leagues and a women's league that plays on Wednesday nights.
