IceTown Carlsbad, now Ice Realm
Ice Realm Carlsbad is a year-round indoor ice rink serving local athletes, families and community programs. It was long known as IceTown Carlsbad; in 2024 its ownership group, which also runs Ice Realm Westminster, announced it would carry the Ice Realm brand to Carlsbad as part of a collaboration with the Jr. Reign Youth Hockey Club.
The San Diego Sabers of the USPHL moved here from Ice-Plex in Escondido in 2020 and play their home games at the rink, while Jr. Reign club hockey teams also call Carlsbad home. The rink is listed as the home arena of the Curl San Diego curling club, and it has served figure skaters too, with coach Jonathan Cassar training competitors here during the 2015–16 season.
To cut large monthly electric bills, the rink added rooftop solar in a project completed in just four weeks, keeping disruption to rink operations low.
