Florissant's covered outdoor ice rink, part of the James J. Eagan Center beside Florissant Valley Park
Currently out of season The City of Florissant's Ice Rink page says the covered rink opens November 1. Official schedule update
Florissant's ice rink is an outdoor rink under a roof: the city describes it as an outdoor covered ice rink inside the James J. Eagan Center. The center stands next to Florissant Valley Park and is one of the city's two recreation centers. Besides the rink, it holds an indoor pool, a gymnasium, a fitness center and the Florissant Performing Arts Center.
As an outdoor rink, it answers to the weather, and the city's policy says it may close early when conditions turn. Rink guards trained in CPR and first aid are on duty, figure skaters keep to the center of the ice, and a concession stand serves refreshments during public sessions. The rink also has its own venue on LiveBarn.
The season has its own traditions. The city adds special public skates over the holiday break, holds resident appreciation skates with free entry for Florissant residents who show a resident card, and runs an annual Party on the Ice for fifth to eighth graders only.
