Nash family-owned since 2013
The Pond Ice Rink & Sports Complex sits five miles east of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, where Cuyahoga, Geauga, Summit and Portage counties meet. The Nash family has owned and operated it since 2013, when Elisa Nash, then the rink's program and skating director, bought the property from its previous owner.
It is a year-round sports facility rather than an ice-only rink. Alongside public skating, hockey, figure skating and learn-to-skate programs, the complex includes The Yard, an indoor turf area used for baseball and soccer practice in any season, and Big Blue, an outdoor field for large groups and training sessions. Overlooking the ice is the All-Star Suite, a private indoor room for birthdays and group outings fitted with two 55-inch televisions and a view of the action on the rink.
Two clubs anchor the ice. Geauga Youth Hockey Association, a non-profit founded in 1998 that has earned dozens of banners and championships, calls The Pond its home rink. The Chagrin Valley Figure Skating Club runs its skating-skills sessions on the rink's freestyle ice.
