The Cleveland Foundation rink on Public Square

The Cleveland Foundation Skating Rink turns the southern half of Public Square into ice in the winter months, a hardscape plaza that otherwise holds a seating area, a speaker's terrace, the Soldiers and Sailors Monument and a mirrored-fountain water feature. The foundation put $8 million toward the transformation of Public Square and the creation of Cleveland Foundation Centennial Plaza, where the rink's ticket kiosk stands. The sheet is a 66' x 99' oval.

Public Square is a 10-acre park in the heart of Downtown Cleveland, and the Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument commemorates those who served in the American Civil War. The foundation once presented a free day of skating to coincide with the return of Winterfest in Public Square, and has said the rink had proven to be one of the community's top destinations during the winter months.

The ice has also hosted winter programming such as a free intro to curling, and its holiday pitch is making timeless memories in the heart of Cleveland.
