Ohio's only Olympic-size sheet, in Cleveland Heights
The Cleveland Heights Community Center opened for business in February 2002 as a building of about 153,000 square feet. Its Olympic-size ice surface, the only one in Ohio, was added in 2001 to expand ice time for everyone and has since been rebuilt as the renovated North Rink.
In November 2022 the North Rink was in such bad condition that it needed the full strength of the compressor system to operate. The center's second sheet, the South Rink, shut down at the start of COVID-19 and had not reopened, and in June 2023 its lines were punctured while old dasher boards from the North Rink were being moved.
The rink is home to the Cleveland Heights, Benedictine, Brush and University School high school teams, the Eastside Tigers youth hockey program, the Cleveland Heights Speedskating Club and the Pavilion Skating Club. On February 19, 2026, it hosted a watch party on the ice, decorated with red, white and blue balloons, for the Olympic women's hockey gold medal game featuring Cleveland Heights' own Laila Edwards.
