Ohio's high-school-owned two-rink arena

The Floyd E. Stefanski Ice Center on Gilmour Academy's Gates Mills campus was dedicated on February 9, 2020, in honor of the late Floyd Stefanski, whose brothers and children are Gilmour alumni. It is the only facility of its kind in Ohio owned by a high school.

The arena has two NHL-size rinks with seating for 1,100, eleven locker rooms and a fitness center, alongside the school's athletic center that opened in 2009. It draws about 300,000 visitors a year for tournaments, lessons, free skate and more.

It is home to Gilmour's Lancer hockey program, with two varsity, one 16U and two prep teams, and to its varsity figure skating and synchronized skating teams. Other local high schools and John Carroll University's Division I club men's hockey team also use it as home ice, and Gilmour's boys won Ohio High School Athletic Association state hockey championships in 2022 and 2026.
