Downtown Dallas's holiday rink in Main Street Garden
The CultureMap City Rink is a seasonal holiday rink set up in Main Street Garden, a downtown Dallas park that was dedicated in November 2009. CultureMap produces it in partnership with Downtown Dallas, Inc., with Fossil as presenting sponsor, and it returns each holiday season.
Ice Rink Events, which describes itself as the nation's leading designer and operator of seasonal and special-event ice rinks, manages the installation. The park it sits in was designed by Thomas Balsley Associates and replaced Pegasus Plaza as the site for major downtown events.
Opening weekend brings a tree lighting ceremony with ice performances, and the Dallas Holiday Parade passes right by the rink on the first Saturday of December, so visitors can watch the parade and then warm up with some skating.
