Children's Health StarCenter Farmers Branch is one of the Dallas Stars' StarCenter rinks around Dallas-Fort Worth, an 80,000-square-foot building with two ice sheets. In 2018 the rinks were named for Tom Gaglardi, the Stars' owner since November 2011, and Bob Gainey, the team's former coach and general manager and a 1992 Hockey Hall of Fame inductee.
It was still the Dr Pepper StarCenter when the Stars and the City of Farmers Branch announced renovations in September 2017: a new exterior, a refreshed lobby and rink viewing areas, and lighting and sound upgrades to both sheets. Sled hockey came first: the Stars installed sled hockey boards, a bench flush with the ice and clear plexiglass in place of white boards, making it one of only a few sled-accessible rinks in the United States.
In June 2018 the Stars opened the Texas Hockey History Center and an alumni center on the second floor, where windows look down on both rinks. Its main room holds plaques for every Hockey Hall of Fame member who played or worked in Texas professional hockey, with memorabilia such as 1941-42 game programs from the Dallas Texans and Fort Worth Rangers. Since January 2025 the RYSE Energy StarCenter Multisport building has stood next door.
