Dallas's rink under the Galleria glass vault

The Galleria Dallas Ice Skating Center sits in the middle of Galleria Dallas, the complex Hines Interests developed in 1982 at the intersection of Interstate 635 and the Dallas North Tollway. It was modeled on Hines's older Houston Galleria: both have ice rinks under a glass vaulted ceiling patterned on the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan. Galleria Dallas opened on October 30, 1982, and Olympic champion Dorothy Hamill performed for the Dallas community at the opening.

The rink says more Olympic champions and athletes have performed on its ice than at any other venue in Texas. Each holiday season skaters circle what Galleria Dallas calls the nation's tallest indoor Christmas tree, and the Grand Tree Lighting Celebration stages an ice show with Olympic skaters and Missile Toes, a backflipping ice-skating Santa. USA Today 10Best readers ranked it the fourth-best ice skating rink in 2024 and tenth in 2025.

The ice skating center was updated in 2025, and from May 2026 the center court around it was renovated with off-white panels and more seating at rink level. Its skating school teaches classes for all ages and abilities.
