A pool-and-ice complex built by Chartres Métropole and inaugurated in 2009, with a ludique rink.
L'Odyssée was built by the Chartres Métropole agglomeration and inaugurated in 2009 as a pool-and-ice-rink complex; its rink is billed as a "patinoire ludique de dernière génération". The rink calls itself a rink of a new kind, with ever-changing ambiances, impressive decors, music and images.
Sessions range from calm family skating to sporty ones and late-night party sessions, and DJ evenings and themed events are listed among its strong points. Children learn at the École de Glace, an introduction to skating taught by the rink's instructors from September to June, with classes grouped by age (3-6, 7-9, 13-15 and over 16), a perfectionnement class and a freestyle class. Freestyle on ice combines ice dance, jumps and choreography.
The rink closes every August, and the complex as a whole is open seven days a week except on 25 December and 1 January.
