A covered rink and an ice path on the former Sernam site
UCPA Sport Station Grand Reims is part of the redevelopment of the former Sernam industrial wasteland, run by the UCPA under a 25-year concession from the Grand Reims urban community. The UCPA announced its name on 17 September 2020, a few weeks before the inauguration, and later described it as the first UCPA Sport Station to open.
The ice is a covered rink of 778 m² with a bar beside the ice. In winter an open-air ice path of about 400 m² connects to it, and the school holidays add a sledge run, ice waterfalls and a ski simulator. In summer the rink is taken off the ice and the space is used for other sports. The project plans nearly 420 supervised sessions a year on the rink.
The multiplex was designed by Marc Mimram Architecture and groups ten spaces, among them a swimming centre and an indoor and outdoor ice rink.
