Northfield's new rink, opened in September 2026

Ryt-Way Arena opened in September 2026, built together by the City of Northfield, the City of Dundas, the Northfield School District and the Northfield Hockey Association. It ended some 20 years of trying to resolve the town's old, functionally deficient arena. Ground was broken on August 14, 2025, on seven acres along Cannon Road donated by the Gleason family, and the project was estimated at $20.9 million, with the City of Northfield paying 64 percent and the sale of the old arena 6 percent.

The building seats 499 and has a dryland training center. It was designed to LEED Silver, with solar panels and an electric ice resurfacer. A mosaic, Skating on the Cannon River, by Northfield artist Michael Sweere, shows outdoor skaters and animals; community members made its pieces in public mosaic workshops.

The Northfield Skating School, the Northfield Hockey Association and Northfield High School hockey all call the arena home, and most games stream on LiveBarn. When the ice comes out, the floor hosts trade shows and other events.
