Mamaroneck's town rink since 1975
Hommocks Park Ice Rink is the Town of Mamaroneck's enclosed skating rink, owned and run by its Recreation Department and built as part of the wider Hommocks Park recreational complex. It has offered public skating to families since 1975, and its NHL-sized ice surface carries public sessions, youth and adult hockey leagues, figure skating programs and learn-to-skate classes.
The rink hosts events for local schools, including Hommocks Middle School, along with community tournaments and high school varsity hockey games. Children ages 5 to 10 learn the game here in a Learn to Play program registered through the New York Rangers, and the ice season runs from fall through spring, with the summer months given to floor events such as roller skating.
Over the decades the building has needed regular maintenance to keep up with heavy use. Its most recent refurbishment, unveiled in September 2025, was supported by the New York Rangers and Benjamin Moore, and Rangers alumnus Brian Mullen cut the ribbon. The spectator area is heated, and a food concession and lockers sit beside the ice.
