Long Beach's municipal rink, open year-round
The City of Long Beach Ice Arena is the city’s municipal rink, part of the Recreation Campus on West Bay Drive, and it is open year-round. Public skating, sticks and pucks sessions, freestyle sessions for figure skaters and youth and adult hockey programs all run on its ice.
The New York Rangers use the arena for the Junior Rangers Rookie Series, a program the Rangers organization designed with USA Hockey to introduce young beginners to the game; the Rangers, not the city, run it. For fall 2026 NYR Girls Hockey is back at Long Beach, starting with Girls Learn to Play, with a Girls League returning in winter and spring.
The arena also runs its own house league, which crowns champions in two divisions, along with a ten-week fall in-house hockey clinic and Learn to Skate classes, and Hank Levin Hockey brings a clinic to the ice on Columbus Day.
