Four-pad Canlan complex in Scarborough where more than 400 ASHL teams play every year
Canlan Sports Scarborough is one of five arena complexes the Canlan Ice Sports Corporation owns in the Greater Toronto Area, with sister buildings in Etobicoke, North York, Oshawa and Oakville. The Scarborough building holds four NHL-sized ice rinks, and there is an outdoor sport court laid out for ball hockey and lacrosse.
More than 400 ASHL adult-league teams play out of Scarborough every year, and the complex also hosts minor hockey organizations and seasonal tournaments, which is why Canlan counts it among the busiest hockey hubs in the GTA. In spring and summer the rinks switch over to Canlan's 3-on-3 Youth Hockey League; the 2026 YHL spring season ran from April 26 to July 19.
The four sheets are not only for league play. Public skating, stick and puck and shinny drop-ins share the ice with the teams, and Learn to Skate sessions run every season, so a beginner can join at any point in the year. Canlan also runs skating lessons, hockey lessons and hockey tournaments for both kids and adults out of the building.
