One of Markham's major community centres
Milliken Mills Community Centre is a City of Markham facility on Kennedy Road south of 14th Avenue, and it has served the area for more than 20 years. It is one of the City of Markham’s major community centres, and the arena shares the building with other recreation facilities.
The ice is one of the City of Markham's indoor arenas for public skating, and the City's Learn to Skate group and private lessons run here. The Markham Waxers hockey club lists Milliken Mills among its venues and keeps an arena safety plan for the building. Off the ice, the Milliken on the Move older adult club operates out of this centre and Armadale Community Centre. During Markham's Youth Week the centre hosted a free public skate on May 3, 2024.
The building also holds the Markham Public Library's Milliken Mills branch. An interior renovation rebuilt the change areas and washrooms as unisex universal change rooms and added an accessible information desk in the lobby, visible from all entrances, that directs visitors to the library, arena, pool or program rooms.
