Dunkerque's two-rink centre on the Môle 1

The Patinoire Michel Raffoux was inaugurated in 2019 on the former quay of Dunkerque's autonomous port, and its website says the rink has carried the Michel Raffoux name for more than 50 years. Equalia runs the 7,500 m² community rink through its subsidiary Phobos, under a public-service delegation signed with the Communauté urbaine de Dunkerque.

Two sheets share the roof. The Olympic rink measures 60 by 30 metres, with 1,400 seats and six boxes for Corsaires matches, national competitions and skating galas. The smaller ludic rink, 42 by 20 metres, looks out over the Halle aux Sucres and the port, and a cafeteria between the two lets spectators watch training from above.

Two clubs are resident. Hockey sur Glace Dunkerque, the Corsaires, was founded in 1970 alongside the first municipal rink, played in the Ligue Magnus from 1994 to 2006 and now counts more than 400 licensed members. Dunkerque Patinage has been part of the city's sport scene for more than 25 years, with 150 members from age 3 to 70, and stages a gala on the big rink each season.
