A venue of the 1987 Pan American Games
Carmel Ice Skadium was one of the venues of the 1987 Pan American Games. Today it is run by Spectate Group, the sports and recreation division of the Nicholas Family of Companies, which holds an agreement to lease, manage and operate the rink as the company expands across the Midwest sports and recreation market.
The Skadium is the home of the Greater Indianapolis Adult Hockey Leagues, the largest adult league of its kind in Central Indiana, with divisions for every skill level. College hockey plays here as well: Purdue's men's ice hockey team, whose home city of Lafayette has no rink of its own, splits its home games between the Fishers Fuel Tank and the Carmel Ice Skadium.
Marie Millikan became the Skadium's skating director in 2005; she has also worked as a figure skating analyst for the Associated Press. Alongside the leagues, the rink runs public skating, Learn to Skate lessons, freestyle ice and Stick N' Puck sessions.
