Novi's two-sheet city arena, opened in 1998 to meet a regional ice shortage and run by Suburban Sports Group.
The Novi Ice Arena opened in September 1998 in response to a regional shortage of indoor ice. Youth hockey and figure skating were growing fast in Michigan at the time, by 12.2% a year in hockey and 7.4% in figure skating, but ice time was limited. The project eventually passed to the City of Novi Building Authority, which built the arena and leased it to the city, and the roughly 15-acre site was deeded to the city in 2015 once the original bonds were paid off.
Since 1999 the arena has been run under a management agreement by Suburban Sports Group of Farmington Hills. It has two NHL-regulation sheets seating 750 and 200, heated viewing areas, eight large locker rooms, an officials room and a large figure skating dressing room.
It is host to the Novi Youth Hockey Association, the Figure Skating Club of Novi, the Novi and Northville high school teams and the City of Novi after-school program.
